We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported our choir throughout this season. Whether you have attended a performance, invited us to sing, or encouraged us along the way, your support has been a tremendous blessing.
At this time, we will be taking a brief pause from performances as we prepare for the season ahead. We look forward to returning in the new year with renewed enthusiasm and are grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing our music with our community.

The mission of the Deep River Singers is to educate audiences and the community on the history of the Negro Spiritual through performance. Each performance provides a high-quality musical experience for all attendees coupled with an educational component. The Spirituals are a music we can all relate to and appreciate, regardless of our background. By sharing these songs and learning their story, we can better understand the human experience and history that links us all together.
Founded in 2022, the Deep River Singers are a North Carolina based vocal ensemble dedicated to the education and preservation of the Spirituals. The group specializes in historical and contemporary arrangements of the concert spiritual but has also expanded to other genres. Made up of a collection of artists from numerous states, DRS has a mission to spread the message of humanity, community, faith, comfort and encouragement through their music.

Our last concert was on June 1st! DRS typically has two concerts each season, so be on the look out for another concert closer to the end of the year. DRS also does additional performances upon request which will be showcased on this website and other social platforms as well.

DRS is open for booking! We have performed for a wedding, a presidential rally, and Salisbury Spirituals at Livingstone College, just to name a few. Click the link below to submit a request!

DRS is currently accepting new members! We typically have rehearsals in Raleigh, Cary, Spring Lake, or Fayetteville. If you don’t live in those areas, no worries! We have members who commute 3 or more hours. If you’re committed to joining, we can work with you. Click the link below to fill out and interest form and to find more information about auditions.
