Saoirsegrainne McLain
Soprano
Saoirsegrainne McLain, a 27-year-old classically trained coloratura soprano, brings a rich and diverse musical background to the Deep River Singers. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, she has performed both nationally and internationally in the United States of America, Ireland and Mexico. Her experience spans both classical and theatrical stages, including a leading role as Golde in Fiddler on the Roof at La Sierra University.
Beyond her vocal performances, McLain is also a talented music producer and songwriter. She has a self-produced EP available on all streaming platforms, with a new album of her original music releasing later this year. McLain's artistry also extends to her work as an independent artist, having performed her original songs at venues across North Carolina, including in Winston-Salem, Fayetteville, Greenville, and Greensboro. In addition to her work with the Deep River Singers, she performs as a professional classical soprano for weddings, funerals, and other liturgical events.
McLain is currently a mortuary science student pursuing her dream of becoming an embalmer and funeral director. This path is driven by a deep-seated belief that every individual has the right to a dignified funeral, memorial, or celebration of life. Her long-term goal is to open her own funeral home and a dedicated cemetery while also providing readily available resources for families who may not have the financial means for a proper arrangement.
